The world is full of double mindedness and double tonguedness. World leaders say they are pro – Israel and pro- Palestinians simultaneously. Some say they are anti-abortion but still think it is ok in special circumstance. Others may say The Border is a big problem but still refuse to take measures to correct that problem. The list goes on. They mouth the words but their hearts do not agree. In plain man’s language they are two-faced! They dance with both sides while never picking one themselves. This is not new, Jesus had to deal with it when He walked the earth, in fact, His unwillingness to join in and compromise was the main reason they killed Him.
He lived and spoke the truth and was despised for it. He gave the religious leaders, who were more like politicians, no wiggle room and no outlet for their crooked and perverse ways and they cancelled Him because of it. And He PROMISED that if we follow Him we will be hated just as He was. He leaves us no out, no room for neutrality. To not pick a side is to pick a side, to not make a choice is to make a choice. Inaction is an action. He did not call us to comfort, He calls us to commitment. We are for His Kingdom or we are against it, we agree with Him wholeheartedly or we disagree altogether, we gather with Him or we are divisive, we make a stand or we fall. We choose Life or we choose death. We choose good or, by default, have chosen evil. There are no slackers and no traitors in the ranks serving under The Commander of Heaven’s army.
